The Emergence

The Emergence is the first book in the Legends of the Reisha Series. It follows two main characters, Iridia and Peter. Iridia is part of a race of people similar to humans, but able to use magic. Humans have long thought these people part of history, but Iridia’s people live in secret, hidden just out of sight. When Peter, a human, stumbles across Iridia’s little patch of paradise, her world changes and she decides to leave. Disaster strikes Peter’s seemingly simple life and the two are forced to be on the run. While Iridia learns much about the world of the humans, Peter learns more about his mysterious past that his mother kept hidden from him.

The Defiance

The Defiance is the second book in the Legends of the Reisha series. Iridia and Peter have split ways. Peter, being frightened to face his destiny, leaves the country and tries to start a new life. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take him long to get wrapped up in this new land’s politics and his past catches up to him. He has make a choice to turn a blind eye to the injustices happening all around him or step up and embrace the person he was born to be.
In this new land is also a new queen, Lyra. She’s a mystery to the people as she doesn’t belong to nobility and she has a large serpent draped around her shoulders everywhere she goes. When she decides to wage war against the merfolk, there is a mix of apprehension and appreciation from her people.
Back in the city of Sorcasse, Matthew is soon to become a husband and king and Brill and Rose settle into their new lives outside of their forest home.

Door to Darkness

In the basement of an old, abandoned house is a door that shouldn’t be able to lead anywhere. However, when Molly hears noises coming from beyond, she needs to find out how to open it. The child that was under her care had disappeared and she’s sure that this is where she is. Why would Bianca run away to such a dark and scary place? But her stuffed animal was there on the basement floor, so there was no question she had been there.
Molly and her friend, Marianne investigate the origins of the old house and learn that it contains a dark secret. While Marianne is sufficiently convinced to stay far away, Molly is determined to move forward and find Bianca.

Tower of Tears

When Maria is out in the woods one afternoon, she hears the most beautiful sound – a lovely voice singing a sad song. Following the sound, she finds a tower with no entrance or exit save a window high up, in which sat a lovely young woman, singing her heart out. Maria learns that the woman in the tower is trapped and vows to save her. As she spends time with Rapunzel, the woman in the tower, her need to free her grows as they begin to fall in love.
Maria must convince Rapunzel that the woman who’s cared for her all these years is not an innocent old woman, but a witch who thrives off the misfortunes of others. They must work together to defeat this common enemy so they can be free together.
